Dear friends and compassionate supporters,

On April 3, 2025, our beloved Ahmad, a 16-year-old Syrian refugee, was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of violence in Huddersfield town centre. Ahmad had recently arrived in the UK, seeking safety and a brighter future after enduring the hardships of war in Homs, Syria.

Ahmad’s journey to the UK began after he suffered a severe injury from a bombing in his neighborhood. His parents, yearning for his safety and a chance at a peaceful life, made the heart-wrenching decision to send him to live with his uncle in Huddersfield. Ahmad arrived in October 2024 and was just beginning to acclimate to his new environment, filled with hope and dreams of becoming a doctor.

Tragically, while exploring his new surroundings and locating his future college, Ahmad became the victim of an unprovoked attack. He was fatally stabbed in the neck on Ramsden Street around 2:45 pm. Despite the prompt efforts of emergency services, Ahmad succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Ahmad died from his injuries, and Huddersfield town centre was stained with the blood of a boy who came here seeking safety.

The local community and authorities have expressed their condolences and are actively investigating the incident. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with Ahmad’s death, and the investigation is ongoing.

Ahmad’s grieving parents wish for their son to be laid to rest in his homeland, Syria. We are reaching out to you, our community, to help raise the necessary funds to cover the costs of repatriation and funeral expenses. Your generous contributions will assist in honoring Ahmad’s memory and fulfilling his family’s wishes during this incredibly difficult time.

Any money left over from the repatriation and funeral costs will be sent directly to his parents to help them cope with their loss and rebuild their lives.
