In a year of change at Hild Bede, our Boat Club remains one of the most active and welcoming groups on campus, still operating from our current site. However, with our usual landing stage closed, we’ve had to haul our boats to an alternative location—a challenge that has truly tested our resolve.

This year has been particularly exciting with the largest intake of novices in recent years—almost double the number from last year. With new members joining our ranks, we’re more determined than ever to create an inclusive and accessible environment. We’ve also made a conscious effort to subsidise membership, ensuring that we remain one of the most affordable clubs around.

As a student-run organisation, we rely on donations to keep our club thriving, maintain our equipment, and invest in new assets. All contributions will go directly towards the upkeep of our boats and, in the future, help us secure a brand-new 4+ boat. To raise these vital funds, we’re undertaking 24 hours of continuous rowing on the water on the 12th of March, supported by all four of our squads—from seniors to novices.
