TED’S RIDE

Ted's Ride started in 2023 in Memory of our baby boy Ted Paul Roocroft, who heartbreakingly passed away at 4 weeks old. Ted had a healthy pregnancy and was born at full term weighing 6lb 6oz. Sadly, when he was born he was extremely poorly and we spent 4 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Our aim is to raise Money for the Royal Preston Hospital NICU ward and to support poorly babies and their families. Claire Braithwaite and Beth Wright, specialist Bereavement midwives supported us during our time in hospital and at home. We raise money for the Bereavement team and RPH 'Rainbow Clinic' supporting bereaved families during this challenging time of loss but also in any future pregnancies.

Our Fundraising so far:

* Funded Paediatric First Aid courses for bereaved families.

* Clay Hand and footprint sets donated to RPH NICU. We have happy memories of doing this with Ted and we would like more parents to have the opportunity to do this with their babies whilst spending time on the NICU ward.

* 'Ask me his name' book by 'Elle Wright' donated to the bereavement at RPH. A book that I was given by the team following our loss. It was a very real read including support and advise for our family and friends.

* ‘Pregnancy after loss‘ journals by ‘Zoe Clark-Coates‘ donated to RPH Rainbow clinic. It is a Day-By-Day Plan that provides advice and guidance to bereaved parents who have another child on the way, as this can be a very nervous and anxious experience.
