Story

My name is Beau and I am a member of Whitwick Ashford Explorer Scout Group. Later this year, along with my older brother Alfie, we have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Nepal with other scout and explorers from Leicestershire.

This amazing 11 day expedition starts with flying to Kathmandu before travelling onto Pokhara all before embarking on a 6 day trek to the Mardi Himal Base camp. Throughout this trek we will be staying in tea houses along the way. Following the trek, we will travel back to Kathmandu. We will spend time with scout groups from Nepal and also see some of the amazing sights including the monkey temple.

This once in a life time expedition is not just about trekking through Nepal but we are also interested in embracing and learning about their diverse culture.

In order to make this trip possible, I am aiming to raise £1000. This money will go towards the cost of the trip and will be used to purchase vital equipment which will enable me to participate in the trek. Furthermore, part of the money raised will be donated to the charity, classrooms in the clouds. This charity supports schools in the Everest region with the aim of improving access to education.

Many thanks for your support!
